Moses and Jesus
Read Hebrews 11:1 through 13:25
He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt (Hebrews 11:26).
Moses foreshadowed the Messiah in numerous ways. Both Moses and Jesus were born after four hundred years of silence from the Lord. Both were Jews, born to faithful parents, and raised by men who were not their fathers. Both were hidden to escape a wicked king’s death decree, and both spent their early years in Egypt.
Both Jesus and Moses saw God face-to-face and communicated directly with Him. Both men were directed by God to deliver His people. Both were sent from a mountain of God—Moses from Mount Sinai and Jesus from spiritual Mount Zion (Hebrews 12:22).
Both served as intercessors and mediators between God and the people. God established the Passover through Moses and completed it through Jesus, the perfect Sacrificial Lamb. Moses offered to be slain instead of the people; Jesus was slain for the sins of all people. Thank God for the Savior!
